On July 6, 2017, 2017 China Green Development Forum focusing on the theme of "Finance Accelerates Green Transition" was held in Beijing. The forum was jointly organized by UNIDO- UNEP Green Industry Platform China Chapter Office, Capital Institute of Science and Technology Development Strategy (CISTDS), China Fortune Media Group, Beijing Fund Town and other organizations.

Address of organizer

Ralf Bredel, chief representative of UNIDO in China, Zeng Zanrong, secretary of the Commission of Fangshan District, Ge Wei, chairman and secretary of the Party Committee of China Fortune Media Group respectively addressed the forum on behalf of the organizer.

In his speech, Zeng Zanrong mentioned, Beijing Fund town will embark on its unique resource and environment carrying capacity to practice the idea that "clean waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets". It will deploy its ecological and well-established system of functional service to attract fund management institutes and other supporting industries to enter the town and develop. All these efforts serve as an impetus for the "Industrialized Green, Green Industry". Guided by the new concept on development, it will remain committed to implementing the strategic positioning of the capital city and the planning from high starting points, with high standards and at high levels. These endeavors aim to build Beijing Fund Town into the "micro hub" of the financial field in Beijing as well as the international, hospitable and harmonious new town which holds the position that matches the capital identity and has the function consistent with that of the capital.

Lu Zhongyuan, CPPCC National Committee Member and former deputy director of the Development Research Center under the State Council, Ji Xiaonan, chairman of Key Large State-owned Enterprises Board of Supervisors under the SASAC of the State Council, Gao Jian, former vice-president of the National Development Bank, Li Xiaoxi, convenor of Economic Department in Social Sciences Commission of the Ministry of Education and honorary President of School of Economics and Resource Management in Beijing Normal University, Fernando RECALDE Leon, professor of ABITA Interdisciplinary Center for University of Florence and others delivered the keynote speech.

Release of research results

Guan Chenghua, director of UNIDO-UNEP Green Industry Platform China Chapter Office and president of CISTDS, issued Research and Evaluation on the Green Enterprises in China.

The Research aims to evaluate the green progress made by the Chinese enterprises, regulate the evaluations and ratings for the green development of enterprises and define the directions and benchmarks of the green development of enterprises. It takes an important role in encouraging and supporting the advanced businesses and driving those fallen behind.

Round table dialogue

Yan Zhenjun, executive president of CISTDS, hosted the round table dialogue. Wang Zhen, director of the UNIDO Asia-Pacific Regional Bureau, Zhang Liping, deputy director of the Finance Research Institute of the State Council Development Research Center, Li Hongyan, secretary of the Party Committee in Industrial Culture Development Center of MIIT and Information Technology and executive chairman of China Prosperity Green Industry Foundation, Jin Zhouying, director of Center for Technology Innovation and Strategy Studies in Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Liu Yuan, deputy director of Environmental and Financial Consultancy Service Center for Foreign Economic Cooperation Office in Ministry of Environment Protection and others took part in the dialogue.
