On September 14, 2017, the "Establishment Ceremony of Intellectual Innovations City Lab (IICL) and Symposium for the Public of Research Results" was held in the Beihai Service Center of Beijing Fund Town. During the event, Alex Pentland, the Godfather of Wearables, delivered a keynote speech.

 Meanwhile, Capital Institute of Science and Technology Development Strategy (CISTDS) released the annual report on the key research.

The Opening of the Laboratory

In the very day, Intellectual Innovations City Lab (IICL) jointly initiated by the Capital Institute of Science and Technology Development Strategy, the MIT Science Laboratory and the Digital China Holdings Limited, was founded in Beijing.

Lu Zhongyuan, former deputy director of the Development Research Center under the State Council, Gao Jian, former vice-president of the National Development Bank, Guan Chenghua, president of CISTDS, Alex Pentland, director of the MIT Connection Science Lab, and Xie Yun, chief scientist and vice-president of Digital China jointly launched the IICL.

Release of research results

Guan Chenghua released 2017 Report on Development of Scientific and Technological Innovation in the Cities of China and China Innovation Map of Cities.

The 2017 Report on Development of Scientific and Technological Innovation in the Cities of China, releases the development index of scientific and technological innovation for 287 cities at prefecture level and above, presents in Quantification developing degrees of scientific and technological innovation in various cities and compares the differences of innovation levels. All these provide supports for the decision-making of governments and enterprises.

Keynote speech

Alex Pentland delivered a keynote speech on Social Physics and Financial Technology.

The speech concerns the comparison between wealth and creative flow, brand new methods for credit scoring, creative flow and urban regional economy index, etc. All the participants were deeply inspired by the novel perspective of it.

High-end dialogue
